Annual list, 1911
The annual list of Greyhollow Seed Works, printed in the spring of 1911 by a local press in a single green ink with black type. The issue runs to 48 pages, with a stiff paper cover and two plates of vegetables printed on heavier stock. We hold one copy, in good condition apart from a tear at the fold of page 24.
The cover carries the date and the name of the yard. Inside, the lists are arranged under 19 headings, from kitchen vegetables through to hardy annuals, and each heading opens with a short note on sowing that the printer set in smaller type.
Index
We index the issue by hand to the level of the entry. There are 312 entries for individual varieties. Each one is recorded with its page number, the nursery's own item number and the quantity given for the packet. The quantities are recorded exactly as printed, including the abbreviations.
